Tupac Amaru Shakur (new-york)

Tupac Amaru Shakur (16 juin 1971, New York, NY - 13 septembre 1996, Las Vegas, NV) également appelé 2Pac, Pac, Makaveli, Makaveli (Tha Don), MC New York, était un rappeur et acteur américain. Il a appartenu aux groupes: One Nation Outlaw Immortalz/Outlawz. Emcees, Two From The Crew, Strictly Dope, Digital Underground, Thug Life.

Il est le rappeur qui a vendu le plus d'albums dans l'histoire du Hip Hop avec plus de 75 millions d'albums vendus selon le World Guiness Book 2004, dans lequel il a été classé comme "Meilleur Vendeur d'album du Hip Hop" (dont 50 millions aux États-Unis^{[réf. nécessaire]}). Son succès a largement contribué à l'explosion commerciale mondiale du rap au cours des années 1990. Son charisme, sa fantaisie, son flow, ses paroles travaillées et sa mort prématurée en ont fait l'une des icônes majeures de ce genre musical, et une franchise rentable : il est l'artiste qui a sorti le plus d'albums après sa mort, il est classé 8^e meilleur vendeur d'album posthume tout style confondus, dépassant ainsi Bob Marley et bien d'autres.^{[réf. nécessaire]}

Tupac meurt en septembre 1996, des suites de ses blessures après que des coup de feu aient été tirés sur lui. Les raisons de cet assassinat sont discutées.
